2014

A Note From Sarah

It’s hard to believe that 2014 is coming to a close! I’m excited to wrap up the year recording on Michael Daves’ new Twin Albums Project which will also feature Noam Pikelny, Brittany Haas, and Mike Bub. Be on the lookout for that in the Spring of next year.

The first part of 2015 will be spent writing songs and preparing for my next CD. I’ll be doing some solo shows on my own and opening for The Punch Brothers in London, as well as a handful of performances with some special guests. In addition to all that, I’m embarking on the newly announced I’m With Her Tour featuring myself, Sara Watkins, and Aoife O’Donovan. I’m so thrilled to make music with these two ladies in the coming year! I’ll be doing a lot of teaching next summer, starting with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project Global Musician Workshop in June, followed by the RockyGrass Academy and Festival in July. Can’t wait to return to some of my favorite places and discover some new ones along the way.

Thank you so much for supporting my music throughout the year. I wish you and your family and friends all the best during the holiday season.

After a busy spring that included Old Settler's Music Festival, a fantastic West Coast run, a couple of solo dates with John Prine and a fun weekend with the Deadly Gentlemen and friends, Sarah spent a few days on the road with The Milk Carton Kids in preparation for their tour this fall. Summer kicked in with the International Mozart Festival in Bartlesville, OK and an appearance at Bonnaroo on The Bluegrass Situation stage in the same week. The summer tour started in earnest late June. For the full schedule, click here.

Happy New Year everybody! I couldn't think of a better way to ring in 2014 than having the chance to open for the Punch Brothers on NYE at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. It was a blast getting to open for those guys and sit in with them on a couple of songs at the end of the show! I'm incredibly excited for what the new year has in store, so stay tuned for more updates about upcoming shows and exciting developments as the year gets rolling! -Sarah
